The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires that when a Fire Risk Assessment has been carried out an Emergency Plan is prepared and kept available for reference of employees.
An Emergency Plan is essential to any fire safety planning. It is the document that states the procedures that are to be taken in case of fire in the workplace, and is used to train and instruct Fire Wardens and employees what they should do should a fire break out.
This document is premises specific and must contain such information as:
The fire strategy for the building.
Fire Procedures.
Specific responsibilities and names of responsible staff.
Information about warning in case of fire.
Means of escape routes.
Types of fire fighting equipment and locations.
Assembly point details.
